Default How to build cheat PKGs for Rogero 4.30

First of all, thanks Skiller for his great tool CMP and sesiom316 for his great tutorial.

    ############################################
How to create CHEAT PACKAGE 3.55/4.21 and Above
    ############################################

    Tools you need:
    1. Cygwin
    2. Hex editor (Hdx on CMP tool)
    3. notepad++ (optional)
    4. Aldo PS3 Tools (with many tools included)
    5. All required bin files placed on "bin" folder, copy all content to C:\cygwin\bin
    6. Copy ".ps3" and "data" folder to C:\cygwin\home\[user]\
    ###############################
    1. Create a folder inside C:\cygwin\home\[user]\[GAME-ID]
    - GAME-ID: 9 characters GAME ID (eg BLES01301: Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3)
    - Your username folder will be create on the first time run Cygwin Terminal
    2. Go to your backup game HDD folder and copy all contents except for USRDIR folder (some files are not required but you should copy all) to C:\cygwin\home\[user]\[GAME-ID] it will look like:
    - BLES01301
    - LICDIR\*
    - TROPDIR\*
    - ICON0.PNG
    - ICON1.PAM
    - PARAM.SFO
    - PIC0.PNG
    - PIC1.PNG
    - PIC2.PNG
    - PS3LOGO.DAT
    - USRDIR (we will create this folder)
    3. Copy file EBOOT.BIN from BLES01301\PS3_GAME\USRDIR to cygwin username folder (C:\cygwin\home\[user])
    - Edit PARAM.SFO with following value using Aldo's Tool
    *Category: GD Game Data
    *PS3_System: 04.3000 (I use Rogero 4.30)
    *Version: 1.02 (see version.txt - thanks sesiom316)
    *App Ver: 1.02 (see version.txt - thanks sesiom316)
Other settings keep same as default when you copy PARAM.SFO from backup game HDD
    4. Open Cygwin Terminal run below command to decrypt EBOOT to SELF file
    unself EBOOT.BIN EBOOT.ELF
    5. Open new created EBOOT.ELF file on Hex Editor
    - Don't replace dev_bdvd to hdd0, there is no need to do so since we will load game from Disc Icon.
    - Do not add the content that make file size not match, for example adding content.
    - Open ps3user cheat, find game ID (BLES01301) and open a cheat code you want to add into package.
eg: Max Money On Item Sell : 00002000 0008B3E0 7D244B78
00002000: Code Type (see Code-WIP.txt - thanks Skiller)
0008B3E0: Offset (We have to convert ps3user cheat to CMP, minus this offset 10000, it will become: 0007B3E0)
Go to offset: 0007B3E0 and edit value to 7D244B78
    - Save ELF file
    6. We will encrypt EBOOT.ELF file to EBOOT.BIN with NPDRM package type, use command below (NOTE: THIS COMMAND MUST BE USE AS BELOW, DO NOT USE OTHER COMMAND, IT WILL NOT WORK AFTER INSTALLED PACKAGE)
    #############################
    For CFW 3.55:
    #############################
    scetool -v --sce-type=SELF --key-revision=04 --compress-data=TRUE --self-auth-id=1010000001000003 --self-vendor-id=normal --self-type=NPDRM --self-app-version=0001000000000000 --self-fw-version=0003004100000000 --np-license-type=FREE --np-app-type=EXEC --np-content-id=CHTPKG-BLES01301_00-00000000000ZERO6 --np-real-fname=EBOOT.BIN --encrypt EBOOT.ELF EBOOT.BIN

    #############################
    For CFW: 4.21 and Above
    #############################
    scetool -v --sce-type=SELF --compress-data=TRUE --skip-sections=TRUE --key-revision=10 --self-auth-id=1010000001000003 --self-add-shdrs=TRUE --self-vendor-id=normal --self-type=NPDRM --self-app-version=0001000000000000 --self-fw-version=0003006000000000 --np-license-type=FREE --np-content-id=CHTPKG-BLES01301_00-00000000000ZERO6 --np-app-type=EXEC --np-real-fname=EBOOT.BIN --encrypt EBOOT.ELF EBOOT.BIN
    #############################
CHTPKG-BLES01301_00-00000000000ZERO6: This is package Content-ID, you can edit but format must not change.
    7. Copy encrypted EBOOT.BIN in step #6 to USRDIR folder on step #2 (C:\cygwin\home\[user]\[GAME-ID]\USRDIR)

    8. Create package BLES01301.conf file use GD Content Type (See ContentType.txt - thanks sesiom316)
    Content-ID = CHTPKG-BLES01301_00-00000000000ZERO6
    K_licensee = 0x00000000000000000000000000000000
    DRM_Type = Free
    PackageType = DiscPatch
    Content_Type = GameData
    PackageVersion = 01.02
    9. Run create package command with following structure on C:\cygwin\home\[user] folder:
    - BLES01301
    - LICDIR\*
    - TROPDIR\*
    - ICON0.PNG
    - ICON1.PAM
    - PARAM.SFO
    - PIC0.PNG
    - PIC1.PNG
    - PIC2.PNG
    - PS3LOGO.DAT
    - USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN
    - BLES01301.conf
    #############################
    psn_package_npdrm BLES01301.conf BLES01301
    psn_package_npdrm [config file] [GAME ID]
    Output look like (see psn_package_output.txt)

    10. Copy created package to USB and install on PS3, enjoy your cheat ^^

Any PKGs can be resigned to 4.30 but codeunique can't work on Rogero 4.30 after resigned, there are a lot of people try to run codeunique after resigned on Rogero 4.30 with no result, me either. The only way to cheat on Rogero 4.30 is create pkgs using CMP Tool.

    I do follow this.

Whatever your game, download CMP Auto Tools 6.3. Put that in C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\.

Put the game's files in C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\GamesSource\.

With a window for both C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\ and C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\GamesSource\ open, click and drag your game on the batch file called SELF2ELF2TXT.bat. You aren't going to be finding or making codes on your own so when the batch file asks if you want to generate the text file of the game's, so just pick choice 2 to skip it when it asks. It should only take a few seconds or less and the window will disappear.

There will now be an elf file of the game in the directory C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\MAIN\ELFS\. Open that file with a hex editor, like HxD which comes with CMP Auto Tools 6.3.

    You have these for codes:
    00002000 016A8F78 60000000
    00002000 016A4360 7D3F0214
Remove the first 8 digits because they are a code type for CodeUnique. You have this:

    016A8F78 60000000
    016A4360 7D3F0214

CodeUnique codes have things 00010000 higher in memory, so just subtract that and get:

    01698F78 60000000
    01694360 7D3F0214

In HxD with the game's elf file open, press CTRL+G for the address jump box to appear. Type in address 01698F78 and press enter. Change the value to 60000000. That's one code down. Press CTRL+G again and go to address 01694360 and change the value to 7D3F0214. Save the changes and exit out of HxD.

With both of the windows open that you used to drag the game's files onto SELF2ELF2TXT.bat, drag them over whichever one had "DnD" in the title of the batch folder. It will ask whether you are on 3.55 or lower, or on the 4.30 CFW. Pick your choice. HxD will pop up with the game's SFO file open. Go down to where you will find "DG" in it somewhere and change it depending on how you want it. I always change it to "GD". Go to the very bottom where it has the game name and B??S##### with 4 capital letters and 5 numbers after it. After it should be some number with a decimal point like 1.00 or 1.01. Whatever it is, change it to a higher number (I enter 99.99). Save and exit. The batch file will continue on and should create a package in the C:\CMPAUTOTOOLS6.3\GamesSource\ directory. Place that on a pen drive, turn on the PS3, and run the package. Now those codes will be in effect every time you play until you either delete the game data or replace it with a different package.

this happens to me aswell only thing i can think is that the address is wrong or the update ie 1.02 /1.00 is wrong so the offsets are different.but even when i try with the correct update the cheats dont apply.the best way to check is to get the ogc and check the offset to see where the error is.

THere is somethings wrong with this if your goin to do this by editing the Eboot.elf your self u will need to put the elf in the Source folder or Temp directory like it asks u to when Hxd opens (Read the black screen when hxd opens) it tells u were to put the modded Elf..

i will be adding an option into DND that will alow it to grab it from the Elf folder for a later release .. there are a few guides on how to use CMP auto tools 6.3 and are very simple and straitforword .. for the ppl that care to read them the main one is easy to follow as well it was ment to have a video with it but for some reason the program i have dont like to do 10mins of video lol.. u can find them in the http://www.codemasters-project.net/v...CMP-AUTO-TOOLS thread

Thanx to anyone that has or is donating to me.. it helps alot with getting new things to hack..

my PS3 is CFW rogero 4.30( yes i use multiman and the games are all in PS3 internal HD)
    i don't use cygwin,

So i make PKG cheat for Final Fantasy XIII(MRTC00003) with only CMPAUTOTOOLS 6.3(installed on C drives) but i can't get into the game.

After i install the PKG, i load game from multiman(with BD already inserted). And then click the FF XIII icon(from installed PKG) and then comes the black screen, if i play FF XIII from the APPgames or the disc symbol in XMB it is okay but the cheats is of course not working.

Here's my steps to make the PKG cheat , just tell me which is wrong and what should i do:

    1. drag the MRTC00003 folder from CMP>GamesSource to the CMP_SELF2ELF2TXT.BAT
    2. The ELF file is already made in CMP>MAIN>ELFS folder thus the new ELF file i edit using HEX Workshop
I change the OGP code to CP in the ELF file :

Inf/Max gil On Buy or sell

    Orignal Game Pattern:
    7F9D4000409D00087D1D437893A72638
    Code Pattern:
    48000008409D00087D1D437893A72638

    -------------------
    Max CP After Battle

    Orignal Game Pattern:
    7F805000900B0C80409D0008914B0C80
    Code Pattern:
    48000004900B0C80409D0008914B0C80

I don't know if the code patterns are right or not because i can't get in the game due to the black screen.

    3. After that i drag the MRTC00003 folder to the CMPAutoToolsDND.BAT i typed 2 and then move the ELF file(rename it to EBOOT.ELF) to CMP>MAIN>GameTMP>MRTC00003>USRDIR folder

    4. the HxD will then show and i use PKG type HG(for Hard Disk Game) save the HxD then close HxD the DOS will continue running and i get the PKG in CMP>GamesSource folder

I was actually wondering if we could just drag the ELF file to CMPCode_Adding.BAT to add cheats code for the game. And after that drag again the ELF file to CMPMakeFself.BAT to get EBOOT.BIN so we only need to rewrite the EBOOT.BIN instead of installing the package. Can we do that?

It's look like we can't create cheat pkgs for FFXIII using this way (my friend got this problem too). You should ask Skiller for his help. ^_^

There is no EBOOT.TXT in the game folder right? only EBOOT.BIN that can be converted to EBOOT.ELF then i edit the EBOOT.ELF to enter the codes. then repackage to become PKG file.

Can you play FF XIII with cheat PKG using rogero 430? if so, how? if you please to show the way to me how to cheat on FFXIII using rogero it would be greatly appreciated.

So FFXIII can't be cheated on rogero 430 with CMP tools, if that's why is there any other way to cheat besides using this tool? Maybe save game mod?

    Hi there
Like the others i followed the above Tutorial and created a cheatpkg for Final Fantasy XII(only max money code). But i'm getting a black screen too. Might this happen cause i'm starting the game through "apphome\ps3game"? Cause my blueray drive is broken so i have no blueray inserted.

About replacing the bdvd to hdd0. Since I'm loading my game from an external usb drive, do i have to change this to hdd0 or somehow to usb0002?

In order to find the source of my black screen problem i tried several ways. But even if i just unself the eboot.bin and then create the package again, without changing anything at the boot.elf gives me a blackscreen at the start of the game. which is what i don't understand, why shouldn't it start if there are no actual changes of the eboot.

    so i got 1-2 questions
    1) do those cheat pkgs even work discless?
    2) does the eboot.bin at the end must have the same size as it's original? cause the size changes, even if i dont change anything in the .elf.

    For Step 6

Download CMP tool from this topic: http://www.codemasters-project.net/v...CMP-AUTO-TOOLS
extract file on CMP Tool, you will see .ps3 and data folder (make sure you can view hidden files & folders)

I had the same problem last night with Rebug 4.21.1 REX, it would crash to blackscreen and my PS3 would ask me to do a file system check to repair potential damage. The packages will work diskless, yes. You don't need to mod /dev_bdvd/ to /dev_usb002/ that's only if you're making the game run similarly to a PSN game. The EBOOT.BIN does not need to be the same size, the reason the size changes is because it is compressed in the packaging process. There is a way to disable this, though it only accomplishes taking more room, it won't fix it. For the record, I was using the game disc.

Like you I tried several ways to get it to work, aside from trying it without modifying anything. I never did figure out how to fix it, I just gave up and decided to mod my save if I needed something. I have a feeling that it may be related to the revoked keys in firmware 3.60+. I'm probably wrong though.

Before I get into anything, I first want to apologise for breaking rules and double posting. There's a reason, and I think a justifiable one for me to do this, which you'll see in a moment. I'm not trying to bump the thread or boost my post count, I simply want to make sure people having the problem I was above know of my findings. I don't believe it qualifies for getting it's own thread, but I'll leave that to whoever fixes this double post thing. Again, sorry. I don't mind if I get an infraction but hopefully you'll understand.

I have found a way to get cheats to work with Final Fantasy 13 on CFW 4.xx. I talked with Skiller about it briefly and he told me he knew it didn't like updates. This confused me as the 3.55 PKGs were used as updates, but he said it should work if you replace the eboot. I had already tried this using various options in SCETool, but it gave the same problems as before. I noticed a small update to aldostools PS3 Cheat Editor, so I checked it out. It wound up working. So, here's what I did. This requires you to have FF13 ripped to an HDD (internal or external).

    1. Open aldostools PS3 Cheat Editor
    2. Click on Patch Elf (bottom right) then Open Elf (or press CTRL E)
    3. Open FF13's EBOOT.BIN (the program will auto decrypt and open EBOOT.ELF)
    4. You can do one of two things. Use the cheats in that list and apply them to the ELF or hex edit them manually
    a. To apply a cheat to the ELF click on whatever cheats you want, then click Patch ELF then Apply Patch to Elf (or press CTRL P)
    b. If you want to hex edit I assume you already know how to do this, just open EBOOT.ELF (same directory as EBOOT.BIN) and modify away. Make sure to save!!
    5. Once done, click on Patch Elf then click MAKE SELF (yes, make SELF, not PKG, or anything else!)
    6. Save it as whatever the original file name is (so EBOOT.BIN by default). Let it overwrite the file.
    7. Replace the EBOOT.BIN in FF13's USRDIR folder with the cheat code one. This requires you to have ripped the game onto either your external or internal HDD. The game should boot, with cheats working.

Note: For some reason the CP cheats in the Cheat Editor Program do not seem to work with EBOOT patch, but "Buy Sell Item 99" does. As soon as you buy or acquire an item, it'll become 99. It'll stay that way and will not decrease even if you sell all 99 or use it to upgrade. This does not apply to weapons so you can sell and acquire those without any problems. This will NOT work with PKG files, I already tried.

Now, if anyone knows how to make a bootable self file with scetool, hopefully you'll either test it or reply so I can test it. What I tried wouldn't work, and I don't recall what I tried. It would be a lot easier if we didn't have to use aldos PS3 Cheat Editor, but for now that's what I've found.

    Code:
    scetool.exe --sce-type=SELF --compress-data=TRUE --skip-sections=TRUE --key-revision=1C --self-auth-id=1010000001000003 --self-vendor-id=01000002 --self-type=NPDRM --self-fw-version=000400XX00000000 --np-license-type=FREE --np-content-id=CID --np-app-type=EXEC --np-real-fname=EBOOT.BIN --encrypt EBOOT.ELF EBOOT.BIN
np-content-id cid you must choose the real content id you can find in original eboot.bin
self-fw-version you must select the one you want to make eboot for

lets say you want to make an eboot for metal gear rising BLES01750 on 4.31:
    Code:
    scetool.exe --sce-type=SELF --compress-data=TRUE --skip-sections=TRUE --key-revision=1C --self-auth-id=1010000001000003 --self-vendor-id=01000002 --self-type=NPDRM --self-fw-version=0004003100000000 --np-license-type=FREE --np-content-id=EP0101-BLES01750_00-PATCHBDVER000000 --np-app-type=EXEC --np-real-fname=EBOOT.BIN --encrypt EBOOT.ELF EBOOT.BIN

I don't seem to be able to find the content ID in the EBOOT. I used
    Code:
    scetool.exe -i EBOOT.BIN
But I don't see any content ID the game's ID is MRTC00003, so could I just put UP0101-MRTC00003_00-0000111122223333? I recognize the format from the old days of eboot modding/resigning before simplified tools were released. I just don't recall seeing that in the eboot.

are you talking about a npdrm eboot or just a disc eboot? bootable are both. difference is, npdrm eboot is direct bootable from xmb

    this would be disc eboot:
    Code:
    scetool.exe -v --sce-type=SELF --compress-data=TRUE --skip-sections=TRUE --key-revision=1C --self-auth-id=1010000001000003 --self-app-version=0001000000000000 --self-vendor-id=01000002 --self-type=APP --self-fw-version=0004003100000000 --encrypt EBOOT.elf EBOOT.BIN

It's a disc EBOOT. Only reason I say "bootable" is because if I rip the EBOOT.BIN out of a PKG file and replace the game's main EBOOT.BIN with the PKG version it does not work, it results in a black screen crash.

of course it does not work. you cannot put a npdrm eboot in a disc game. you have to decrypt it and reencrypt to disc eboot. i am using deank's old ebootmod tool with updated keys to reencrypt npdrm eboots to disc eboots and it works like a treat.

Yeah, I had assumed it wouldn't work as it didn't work with the PKG. I tried it just to see if maybe it would. For whatever reason it's only this game that does not work with a PKG, and no one seems to know why.

    **EDIT**
Used those parameters above and replaced EBOOT.BIN and it crashed my PS3 just like the PKGs do.

No worries, I appreciate the help all the same. I just want to know what it is Aldo's PS3 Cheat Editor is doing different, just in case people don't want to have to use it.
