Shame it has to come to this, but given the past and that this is a repeat offense, it needs to be done. Unfortunately there is no way to to truly get rid of someone like that since it is quite easy to evade bans like this. I actually evaded a ban and did what this guy did making a ton of accounts though I probably did it in a much smarter way since the admin was too confused as to which accounts were mine.

He had it coming though considering that he stole and was selling quite a bit of my work and claiming as his own.

This kind of shenanigan is exactly why the board is in no-registration mode right now. There are a couple of vBulletin plugins that restrict registrations based on publicly maintained blacklists, i.e., if your IP is a known proxy or compromised machine, you can't register. It's not perfect, but it would make this sort of nonsense more difficult. The problem is that the guy with the vBulletin license isn't really actively interested in the forum any more. Well, that and there's only about five people that we'd be interested in keeping out indefinitely, and it seems like a waste for that.

I may set up new member moderation. We'd have to establish a set of loose rules, though, and give people who might be legit a second chance to get out of the queue. The problem is we get about 10-15 new members a day, and spamming the queue would probably be a popular pastime, whether it's done intentionally or not. I know 10-15 doesn't sound like a lot, but it could get ugly if it's left for a day or two, even if people don't spam the queue. And it would get tedious to work on an ongoing basis.

I think I mentioned this in the other thread. He's at least in twenties by this point. He does this with every gaming site he's a member of, including GameFAQs. (I doubt poopypants was him, but I really don't know.) Websites, games, and whatever activities his caregivers have set up are his only distractions, I think. Back in the day, he used to always request end-of-game save files the day games came out. So he's not even all that interested in playing games. I really don't understand it. He always wants to cheat, so he's not interested in the gameplay. He wants to skip to the end (generally the worst part of the story), so he's not really interested in the story so much. It just defies rational explanation.

In a word, YES. Imagine your 6 year old sibling, cousin, nephew, whatever, asking you if they can ...<fill in the blank>, and after you said "no," they keep asking you over and over and over again, hoping the answer will change - even after you've repeated your answer 3-dozen times over - they still keep asking. Now picture this coming from a 20-something...someone who should have gotten it the first time. We all have some degree of patience, but this guy has no shame.

This board wasn't setup for his personal amusement. Far from it. It was setup to accomplish what cmgsccc used to be: a place where people can come together, and develop hacks/cheats for games that no one else will touch. I, personally, make it a point to modify every video game I rent/buy - to get more out of it. In the case of console games (where the media is static) the next best thing is developing cheats to effect a change in gameplay.

I've hacked a couple of codes, here and there, but nothing compared to people like skiller - who rent/buy a game the day it comes out, and hacks 9000 codes like they're going out of style. Props to you guys.

But people like Bryan have no interest in contributing to this community in any way whatsoever, or comport themselves to the standards of this forum.
