I'm personally sick of having to discipline users for posting duplicate threads. I'm also tired of the excuses offered up by those who have been disciplined. So, with that said, I offer some search tips, in hopes people wise up, and to alleviate the need for calling us who enforce the forum rules, names. So, with that said, here we go.
By default, Vbulletin limits search strings to a minimum of four characters. Obviously, search terms less than four characters should be avoided.
.
Along with the main search feature, each forum, as well as thread, is searchable. There are search bars on every level.
.
Common operators should be avoided. This means that terms such as, but not limited to, "this" and "that", along with the obviously ignored three character terms, should be avoided.
.
Uncommon terms are what you should be searching for. If for example, you were looking for "Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII", "Cerberus" would be a pretty uncommon term.
.
In the case of games that only have three character terms, the NTSC U/C, PAL and PS2 Converting forums are sortable by name.
.
You can have a search term 17 words long and often all it takes is one wisely chosen term to make your search successful.
That's all folks. Common sense goes a long way.
**EDIT**
I've decided to open this one for discussion. If any of you have any tips of your own, suggestions or questions, feel free to post them here.
