You have hоre blocked when it should be whоre, you can't spell doсumentation without сum. I'm sure there are more. Perhaps some banned words shouldn't be banned and a spell checker be run on those that are. Actually, I'd say toss the filter all together. Most of the swearing is in the bag anyway.
Oh, I bypassed the filter for demonstrative purposes. Otherwise it would have been hard to do***ent ****.

The last I checked, there's a vBulletin hack available that uses DSORBS and some other listings to exclude people going through machines that are known to be compromised, and from suspect network locations. It's essentially a spam-filter for the forums. It only prevents people from registering through those machines, so once you blacklist a spammer's physical mask or IP, they can't use web-proxies and shit to get around it, but regular users can continue to use anonymizers once they've dropped their anonymity long enough to register. You should probably look into installing that, rather than censoring users unnecessarily and breaking URLs. You guys are a couple of releases behind, so there shouldn't be a compatibility issue.

Yeah, 400 links to gay porn. Today I learned that gay people have a lot of time on their hands, and anything else on them I prefer not to know about.
I also just learned that I'm turning off that bloody censor. You didn't configure it to pick up, "shit", but I bet it censors, "cocktail".

Okie dokie, censor off. Why the hell was it configured to only censor "sex" and "gay" if they appeared in any way, shape, or form? Both of those are perfectly acceptable words, and you're not actually stopping the spammers by merely censoring them. Besides, it's easy enough to bypass the censor in a URL or any other message content. The censor only stops people honest enough, or concerned enough by the rules to not bypass it. These spammers don't care. If you ban them, they'll just come back at their leisure, with a shiny new IP from someone silly enough to get their trojans.
